Sugar Cookies

1 1/2 c. powdered sugar 1 cup oleo.
1 egg. 1 tsp soda
1/4 tsp salt 1 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp vanilla 2 1/2 cups flour.

Cream sugar and oleo, add egg and vanilla.
Sift dry ingredients & add. Cover, let stand at
room temperature 1 hour. Roll and cut in slices,
or roll in balls and press down with a glass
dipped in sugar. Bake at 350 degrees until
lightly brown.
