# Oatmeal Cookies

## Ingredients

- 3 cups ground oatmeal
- 1 cup sugar (either brown sugar, or 1/2 cup white and 1/2 cup brown)
- 1 cup shortening
- 1 cup flour (or more)
- 1/4 cup boiling water
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt

## Instructions

1. Combine all ingredients, mixing well.
2. Roll dough into logs (rolls) and chill.
3. Slice and bake for 8 minutes.
